About

Since I was a teen, I’ve loved the idea of journaling and would keep buying beautiful journals that I would leave sitting on my shelf unused.
I thought I would ruin them and that it would be a waste if I used them and filled them with messy handwriting or inadequate art skills.

As an adult, looking for a creative outlet that was “useful” and that I wouldn’t feel guilty spending time on, I found artistic bullet journaling in 2018. And absolutely loved it. It allowed me to combine art with planning and my never-ending to-do lists. And since I was asking
a lot of my journal’s paper with the art supplies I was using, I finally gave myself permission to use pretty journals without the fear of messing up in them.

Through the bullet journal community, I discovered journaling could improve my mental well-being. And since I was finding calm from stress and negative thoughts while making artistic bullet
journal spreads, I wanted to explore journaling in its other form.
In 2021 dealing with an increasingly stressful job and the general state of the world, I turned to journaling to process my emotions, untangle my thoughts, and find solace.

Having experienced the calming benefits of journaling firsthand, I founded Artfully Journaled to help would-be journalers overcome the everyday struggle of starting with a blank page and the fear of
making mistakes in a beautiful journal.
